HLC Young Authors: Transforming Classroom Readers into Published Writers

Imagine the joy of holding a book in your hands—one with your name on the cover, a story spun from your own imagination, and pages filled with your words. That’s exactly what our students at Hippocampus Learning Centers (HLC) are experiencing through the HLC Young Authors Program in partnership with BriBooks.

For years, the idea that rural children might not be great writers has lingered like an unspoken rule. We’re here to break that stereotype. Not only can our students write, but they are now publishing their very own books—both digitally and physically.

From Readers to Published Authors

At Hippocampus, we’ve always believed that every child has a story to tell. Through the HLC Young Authors Program, we are giving them the tools, confidence, and a global platform to bring those stories to life.

Using BriBooks, an AI-powered writing and publishing platform, our students are now going beyond just consuming stories in their textbooks. They are becoming story creators—writing, illustrating, designing, and publishing books that can be read by people all over the world. In fact, these books are available for purchase on Amazon, making them part of a much larger literary universe!

BriBooks, founded by Ami Dror, is a pioneering platform dedicated to nurturing young authors by providing tools and opportunities for children to write, publish, and sell their own books. With over 600,000 users across 26 countries, BriBooks has made a significant impact globally. The platform empowers children to transform their stories into published works with a seamless process to publish online and sell printed-on-demand books.

Leena Pascal, School Director at Hippocampus, reflects on the transformative nature of this program:

“The Young Authors Program was a very interesting project for all our participating students. I would say it was quite transformative because we saw them move from being very reluctant writers to multitasking—doing storyboarding, pagination, illustration, and cover design, all at the same time. It became an end-to-end, self-taught, self-learned, self-made project. Our kids went from being consumers of stories in their English and Social Science books to actively producing stories for a much larger audience—way beyond the classroom, way beyond the school. This was a very exciting project for them.”

Bridging the Gap with Technology

Writing a book can feel like a daunting task—where do you start? How do you structure a story? What if grammar gets in the way? That’s where BriBooks makes a world of difference.

With its intuitive UI, AI-powered prompts, and easy-to-use formatting tools, students don’t have to worry about writer’s block or complicated editing. They can focus on what truly matters—telling their story.

Pooja Ramchandani, School Correspondent at HLC, encourages students to embrace the process:

“Remember, writing is a journey, and it’s okay to make mistakes. Keep writing, learning, and growing, and you’ll become the best version of yourself as a writer!”

Through this program, students are not just writing stories—they are learning essential skills like creativity, storytelling, and digital literacy. These books aren’t just personal projects; they are testaments to the limitless potential of young minds.

A Platform for Young Voices

For students, seeing their name on a book cover is more than just exciting—it’s empowering. It tells them that their ideas matter, their words hold power, and their voices deserve to be heard.

Chandan Kumar Singh, Principal at Siddh Bharathi Vidya Mandir, Gulbarga, proudly shares, “Unleash your creativity and become a published author! The BriBooks app offered a platform for budding writers in my school to pen down their stories and share them with the world. Take the first step, write from the heart, and get ready to inspire others with your words! I am really very proud of you all.”

This program isn’t just about publishing books—it’s about building confidence, nurturing creativity, and instilling a sense of achievement in our students.

Lavanya Talasila, Principal at Natco School of Learning, Guntur, describes the transformation she has witnessed: “The Young Authors Program has magically metamorphosed my little buddies into storytellers—portraying, invoking, exemplifying, and even shaping the layout of their own books.”

For Nisha Nair, Principal at Vidyakula International Hippocampus School, the impact is clear. “The Young Authors Program has sparked young minds, giving wings to their thoughts and transforming them into words. It has brought a new light of expression and unique voices to the literary world,” she reflects.

The Journey Has Just Begun

With the launch of the HLC Young Authors Program, we are setting a new benchmark in education—one where writing is not just an academic exercise but an adventure of self-expression.

This is just the beginning. With every story written, with every book published, we are empowering young minds, bridging gaps, and proving that great authors can come from anywhere—even the smallest villages.

To our students: Your words matter. Keep writing, keep dreaming, and let the world read your story.
